It's free to get going with the Zune software and a set up a Zune account, and to enjoy all the amazing new Zune software features we now provide. To get the most out of Zune, your computer should meet minimum system requirements, including a 1.5 GHz processor or faster and 512 MB RAM or higher. You'll need a broadband Internet connection to make buying and streaming content a breeze, and a CD-R or DVD±R drive to burn CDs or DVDs. Of course, a wi-fi network is necessary for you to wirelessly sync your Zune to your computer.
