burning your collection to disc

Put your music collection on disc, either CD or DVD. You can burn songs, albums, and playlists as audio CDs, and play music in the Zune Music + Video software while burning CDs. You can even play the songs you're burning.

Personal videos and pictures get burned to data discs (data discs are typically compatible with computers only and probably won't play in your DVD player).

Note

You can burn music you purchased from Zune Marketplace to audio CDs, but purchased videos can't be burned to CD or DVD.

To burn a disc

  1. Put a blank audio CD or data CD/DVD in the disc drive on your computer.

  2. To choose your default settings, click Settings, Software, Burn. Make your selections under Disc format and Burn speed, then click OK.

  3. In your collection, drag the items you want to burn to the Disc icon. These items are added to your burn list.

  4. When you're ready to burn a disc, click Disc or the Disc icon.

  5. Check your burn list:

    • To see how much space is left on the disc, compare how many minutes are used to the minutes that are available. If you need more space, remove some items (right-click an item and click Remove from burn list).

    • Click and drag songs to change the order.

  6. Click Start Burn.
