buying music

If you're looking for new music, you can browse and preview the music in Zune Marketplace. Once you create a Zune Music + Video account, you can buy and download music to add to your collection. You'll need to get Microsoft Points to make a purchase.

Here's what you can do with songs you buy from Zune Marketplace:

  • Play the song an unlimited number of times.

  • Sync the song an unlimited number of times with an unlimited number of devices.

  • If you purchase a song in the MP3 format, it has no associated media usage rights—you can back it up and burn it to CD.

  • If you purchase songs in WMA format, you can download the song on up to five computers and burn the song to CD up to seven times.

The bitrate of the music available at Zune Marketplace varies according to file format. Most MP3 files are either 256 Kbps or 320 Kbps, and most WMA files are 192 Kbps.
