You can delete items from your Zune player by using the automatic sync settings to determine which items get deleted, or you can delete items yourself.
The sync settings you choose determine how media gets synced to your player the next time you sync.
All: Zune automatically syncs all items of a particular media type (such as music) in your collection with your player. If you delete something from your collection on your computer, that item will be deleted from your player.
Items I choose: You select certain categories and individual items from your collection to sync to your player. If you delete one of these categories or items from your collection on your computer, it is deleted from your player.
Manual sync: Zune doesn't automatically sync any changes made to your collection with your Zune player. You must manually delete items from your player, as described below.
If you manually delete items from your Zune player, they stay in your collection. When you sync, these items are skipped. Even if you've selected to sync all your music (or pictures, or videos, or podcasts), skipped items won't sync again unless you drag them to the Device icon .
To see your sync settings
Connect your Zune player to your computer.
In the Zune software, go to Settings, Device, Sync options.
To delete items from your Zune player

On a Zune HD, press and hold the item you want to remove, then tap Delete from the menu.
To delete games
On a Zune HD, press and hold the title of the game to remove, then tap Delete from the menu.
On all other Zune players, select the game you want to delete, and then select Uninstall.
To delete Audiobooks
If you used Audible or OverDrive to sync audiobooks to your Zune player, use the same software to delete them from your Zune player. For more information, see Listening to audiobooks on your Zune player.
