Smart DJ is a quick and dynamic way to launch instant mixes in the Zune Music + Video software based on any album, artist, or song in your collection. Using the criteria you provide, Smart DJ will select similar songs from your collection and suggest songs from the Zune Marketplace catalog. You can also create Smart DJ playlists and sync them to your Zune player or phone.

In addition, if you are a Zune Music Pass holder you can listen to complete songs from the Zune Marketplace catalog in your Smart DJ mixes, and even create playlists and mixes based entirely on music from the catalog, making Smart DJ a great way to discover new music.

• Find a song, album, or artist in your collection, right-click it, then select Play Smart DJ mix. You can also click the Smart DJ icon that appears when you hover over an album.

• Go to Quickplay in the Zune Music + Video software and click on any tile labeled Smart DJ. If you haven't done so already, click the Add an artist icon and enter the name of any artist in your collection to set up a Smart DJ playlist. Then, click the Play Smart DJ mix icon.

• If you're a Zune Music Pass holder you can choose from artists in the Zune Marketplace catalog that are not in your collection. Go to to an artist's page at Zune Marketplace and click the Smart DJ icon to launch a mix.

When playing, the song list in the Smart DJ mix is displayed in the Now Playing screen. (To get to the Now Playing screen, click the Now Playing icon in the lower-right corner of the window.) Once a Smart DJ mix starts playing, it will continue to play for as long as Smart DJ can find similar songs.
