streaming videos in the zune music + video software

Did you know that you can stream videos and watch them on your computer using the Zune Music + Video software? Just go to the Videos section of Zune Marketplace where you can find thousands of movies and TV shows to stream instantly, no waiting required!

A broadband Internet connection (cable, DSL, or LAN) is recommended. If you don't know whether your connection is fast enough for streaming, that's OK—a bandwidth test is automatically performed first to make sure that streaming will work for you.

Here's what you need to do to stream a video. First, find a movie or TV show you want to watch. Depending on the video you select, you will have a few more choices to make:

  • Rent or buy. If you choose to rent, and if you have a Zune device linked to the computer, you'll be asked to choose the viewing experience—choose Watch on PC.

  • HD or SD. If you're buying the video and it is available in different formats, you can buy the HD or SD version. You won't be able to watch the HD version using the Zune software on your computer, but you can sync the HD version to a Zune HD player, and download the HD version to your Xbox 360 for the best viewing experience. For more, see Watching Zune videos on different devices and screens.

Next, you'll be asked whether you want to watch now or download to watch later—choose Watch now to stream the video instantly. If your computer passes the bandwidth test, you're good to go!
