watching videos in the zune music + video software

If you have a library of your own videos, including videos created with your Windows Phone, you can use the Zune Music + Video software to watch them on your computer. Zune Music + Video supports many different video formats, including WMV, M4V, MP4, AVI, and MOV. (To find out what the video format is, look at the file extension for your video.) For the full list of supported video formats, see Zune audio and video formats.

To play a video in the Zune software, go to Collection, Videos, then double-click a video. To watch your video without anything cluttering the view, click the Full Screen icon.

You can watch TV shows and movies in the Zune software by streaming videos directly from Zune Marketplace. Or, maybe you want to build your own permanent collection. Just go to Marketplace, Videos to browse and preview thousands of titles you can rent or buy.

The Zune software also lets you manage your video collection, as well as edit videos and related information. Just right-click a video to see the options available for it:

  • Burn your videos to a data disc, as long as you have burn rights for the video. (You can't burn videos from Zune Marketplace.)

  • Edit the video info, such as the video title, category, description, and genre.

  • Edit the video in Windows Live Movie Maker. For example, you can trim and combine videos you've taken with a phone to make a movie to post online.
