Chris Stephenson // General Manager of Global Consumer Marketing, TV, Video & Music Business

Chris Stephenson is general manager of global marketing for Microsoft’s TV, Video and Music Business (TVM). The TVM Business represents the merger of the Connected TV and digital music business groups as separate focuses, and positions the company to continue innovating against evolving consumer behavior and demand for integrated connected entertainment experiences.

Stephenson joined Microsoft Corp. in March 2006 and helped to launch Zune®, Microsoft’s digital music and entertainment brand. His involvement has brought a depth of music experience to Microsoft, and he has applied his extensive knowledge of music and entertainment marketing, international brand development, and artist promotion specifically to marketing programs for Zune. As part of the larger TVM business, Stephenson is responsible for content and programming, product marketing and marketing communications.

Stephenson has a unique, diverse background in the music industry. Before joining Microsoft, he was the CEO and founder of Antenna, a brand strategy and music placement company. Before creating Antenna, Stephenson spent five years as senior vice president of Marketing and Artist Development at the House of Blues, where he was instrumental in the development of the brand and the evolution of the live concerts media distribution model. He also served as CEO of North American operations for Ministry of Sound, providing him with the opportunity to experience a completely different side of the music industry, including artist development, compilations, licensing and media extensions. Previously, Stephenson was senior vice president of Marketing for MTV Networks in Europe where he was engaged in the rollout of the MTV and VH1 brands internationally.
