GETTING AROUND IN ZUNE
The Zune controls are designed to be easy to use so you can jump right in and start having fun.
WHAT DOES WHAT
The switches, jacks, buttons, and ports on your Zune.
- Play/pause button
. Plays or pauses the current song, video, or podcast. Press and hold to turn Zune on and off. - Back button
. Takes you back to the previous screen. Press and hold to return to the home screen.
To reset your Zune, press and hold the back button while pressing up on the Zune pad. Resetting turns Zune off and on again.
- Hold switch. Locks the buttons so you that don't accidentally pause, skip songs, or change volume.To lock your Zune, set the switch to pink.
- Headphone minijack. Connects your headphones to your Zune. Also connects the Zune A/V output cable (available with the Zune Cable Pack and Zune Home A/V Pack) for playing Zune on your TV or home stereo.
- Connector port. Connects the Zune sync cable to your Zune. Also connects Zune to the Zune dock (available with the Zune Home A/V Pack and Zune Dock Pack) and other Zune accessories.
- Zune pad. To select items or see playback options, press the center of the pad.To scroll, brush your thumb up or down the pad. To scroll faster, brush quickly a few times from the top of the pad to the bottom, lifting your thumb at the end of each movement. To stop scrolling, touch the Zune pad.

GETTING AROUND
The media on your Zune is organized into the categories that run across the top of the screen. Your music, for instance, can be sorted according to album, artist, playlist, song, and genre. Your pictures, by date or by folder.

When you're playing or watching something, press the Zune pad to see your options. For details on music, picture, and podcast options, see Play Music, View Pictures on Your Zune, or Play Your Podcasts.
Generally, you use your Zune vertically, like this:

When watching videos and looking at your pictures, your Zune rotates to landscape view, like this:

When you rotate, the controls on the Zune pad rotate as well.
