syncing multiple players

You can link as many Zune players as you like with any computer that has Zune software. Zune software syncs content with all linked players according to the sync options that you determine for each.

If a Zune is already linked to another computer and you want to keep your automatic sync settings with that computer, you can connect it to your computer as a guest. Zune software doesn't automatically sync with guest players, but you can sync some items by manually dragging them to a connected Zune, depending on the usage rights for those items.

Not all songs and albums can be synced to multiple players. To determine what content you can sync with more than one Zune, you need to understand the usage rights for that content.

  • Zune Pass music: Songs and albums that you download with a Zune Pass can be downloaded to three computers and synced with three Zune players.
  • Purchased music and music acquired with song credits: Songs and albums that you buy with Microsoft Points or acquired with song credits can be synced to multiple Zune players.
  • Ripped music: Songs that you rip from your CDs to your computer can be synced to multiple Zune players unless prohibited by the music publisher.
  • Protected music: Some DRM-protected songs, including some songs from other download services, won't sync to more than one Zune.
