Got question about podcasts? Check these answers to some common questions about podcasts in Zune.

How do I delete a podcast from my computer?

For podcasts that you've added to your collection (marked In Collection), right-click the podcast episode and then click Delete.

For podcasts not in your collection (marked Automatic), podcasts are deleted according to your preferences in Series Settings.

How does bookmarking work?

When you stop a podcast part way through, Zune software records the place you stopped. You can resume from that spot later. Even if you sync, the bookmark syncs as well. The next time you play that podcast after you sync, you'll pick up where you left off.

Where do I find podcasts?

Zune Marketplace is a good place to start looking for podcasts. Find out more in Find Music, Videos, Podcasts, and Concert Dates.

How do I subscribe to podcasts not listed at Zune Marketplace?

You can get step-by-step instructions for subscribing to podcasts on other websites in Subscribe to Podcasts.

How do I unsubscribe from a podcast?

You'll find instructions for ending a subscription in Subscribe to Podcasts.

How do I report a problem with a podcast?

To find out how to report problems, see Give Feedback About Podcasts.

How do I mark a podcast as played or unplayed?

Instructions for marking podcasts as played or unplayed are available in Play Your Podcasts.

Why was my podcast episode deleted?

The episode may have been deleted for a couple reasons:

  • If you've set your series settings to sync podcast episodes automatically, the ones you've completed (or have played all but the last few minutes of) are deleted from your player when you sync with your computer.
  • If you've set your series settings to keep a limited number of podcast episodes, the podcast may have been deleted to make room for a new one if your preferred playback order is newest episodes first.

Why don't my changes to podcast settings seem to work?

When you make changes to your general podcast settings in Settings, Software, Podcasts, those changes only affect podcasts that you subscribe to after you make the changes. Podcasts you were already subscribed to remain unchanged.

To change settings for podcasts you're already subscribed to, select a podcast in your Zune software collection and click Series Settings. There you can make changes to that specific podcast.

What's RSS?
