When you're on Zune.net, you can send and receive messages from your friends right from your inbox.

As long as you're connected to the Internet, you can also check your Zune.net inbox to see what's in your device inbox—songs, pictures, podcasts—since the last time you synced with your computer. You can even play 30-second clips from songs that have been sent to your Zune.net inbox, although to play entire songs or podcasts or view pictures, you need to open them in the Zune software.

If a song isn't available on Zune.net or at Zune Marketplace—a home recording, for example—you'll see any song details listed with the song, but it will be marked as not available.

Note
Listening to a song sample on Zune.net doesn't use any of your three plays on your Zune.

You can do several things from your Zune.net inbox.


Open your inbox on Zune.net

  1. Sign in to the Zune software, then click Settings, Summary, My account.
  2. Click My Account.
  3. Click your picture or Zune Tag, then click view inbox.

Download a song on your wishlist

  • Select the songs in the wishlist you want and click buy.

View a sender's Zune profile

  • Select a message, then click the sender's picture or Zune Tag.

Look at pictures

  • Select the picture message, then click Open in Zune Client.

Play a podcast

  • Select the podcast message, then click Open in Zune Client.

Send a message

  • Click send message.

Read a message

  • Click the message.

Reply to a message

  • Select the message and click reply.

Delete an item

  • Select the checkbox next to the item, then click delete.

    The message will be deleted from the Zune software inbox as well.

Delete all items

  • Click select all, then click delete.

Block messages from someone

  • Select a message from the person you want to block, then click block sender.
