When a friend beams something to you, it lands in your device inbox. If it's a song, you can add it to your wish list to learn about it later or buy your own copy at Zune Marketplace after you sync.

Zune Inbox

A song can be beamed to your Zune once; you can play it three times before it expires. (A play is counted when you play the song for more than 30 seconds or more than halfway through, whichever comes first.)

An expired song is automatically deleted from your inbox after the three plays are used up and you've synced your Zune with your computer. Pictures and podcasts don't expire, so you can keep them in your device inbox as long as you want. You can even add pictures and podcasts to your collection and subscribe to the podcasts you like. When you add them to your collection, they're automatically deleted from your inbox when you sync.
