When you delete an item from your collection, it's deleted from your Zune the next time you sync.

You can also choose items to delete from your Zune but keep in your collection. When you sync, these items are merely skipped. Even if you've selected to sync all your music (or pictures, or videos, or podcasts), skipped items won't sync again unless you drag them to the device icon.


Delete items from your zune

  1. Connect your Zune to your computer.
  2. In the Zune software, click the device icon and then click a category to see what's on your device.
  3. Right-click the item you want to delete and select Delete from <device name>.The item is deleted from your Zune but remains in your collection. Zune won't sync it again unless you drag it to the device icon.


Erase your zune

  1. Connect your Zune to your computer.
  2. In the Zune software, click Settings, Device, Sync Options.
  3. Click Erase All Content.

    Note
    If your Zune has a custom background, the erase procedure won't remove it.

Remember, if your Zune is connected to your computer, sync starts as soon as you make a change in your collection.

This will erase everything on your Zune. Then you can reset your Sync Options and fill it up again the way you want it.
