Putting the Zune software into mini player mode while listening to music allows you to use your other programs while continuing to see and control what's playing. While in mini player mode, Zune stays on your desktop in a minimized display. You can drag the mini player anywhere on your desktop, including onto a second display (if you have one).
To put Zune into mini player mode, click on the Mini Player screen view in the upper-right of the Zune software. While in Mini Player mode, click the Mini Player screen view again to return Zune to full-screen view.
The default setting for mini player mode is to always keep the player on top of other open programs on your desktop. To change the setting so the player won't always be on top, follow these instructions:
In the Zune software, navigate to Settings, Software, General.
Under Mini player, click the box labelled "Always on top" to uncheck it.
Note
When you're in the Quickplay screen and select mini player mode, the lists you'll see are the Smart DJ playlists that you've pinned to Quickplay—not the Smart DJ playlists that you have saved in your Playlists area.
