If you've followed the steps in Setting Up Your Zune, you're ready for a quick tour of Zune software.
Destination selection: Choose an area of Zune software: Collection, Device, Marketplace, Social.
Media selection: The media available in each area of Zune software.
Settings: Choose your Zune software, player, and account settings.
Collection views: Choose the way you want to view your music collection.
Sign in: Sign into your Zune account.
Cart: See pending music purchases from Zune Marketplace in Zune software and on your Zune.
Help: Get help setting up your Zune.
Previous screen: Return to the previous area.
Search: Get search results for both your collection and Zune Marketplace.
Device, disc, and playlist icons : Status indicators and shortcuts to different activities.
Device: Tracks the progress of stuff that's currently syncing. Click to see player status info and to view or edit the media that's on your Zune.
Click the computer icon to return to the home page.
Disc: Drag a song over to start a burn list, or load a CD and rip some music.
Playlist: Make a new playlist or update an active playlist. When a playlist is active, songs you drag to the playlist icon are added to that playlist.
Progress bar: See details about the currently playing song, video, or podcast, or other tasks in progress.
Rating: Click beside a song to rate it as either "Like" or "Don't like."
Syncstatus: Shows when a song has been synced with your Zune or skipped from sync.
Playback controls: Repeat, shuffle, rewind, play/pause, fast-forward, mute, and volume, and a shortcut to Now playing.
Now playing: Click the graph icon in the lower right to view the Now playing screen, which is a visualization of your collection’s album art. To display the Now playing list of tracks, move the mouse while the visualization is running. To leave the screen, click Exit.
Note: The Now playing visualization may not appear in all cases, such as when there is no album art or only low-resolution art is available.
