Creating an account in the Zune software allows you to take full advantage of all of Zune's features. With an account in the Zune software you can:

1. Use your Zune Pass to browse at Zune Marketplace, shop for music and videos, add songs to your collection, and listen to Zune Pass content.
2. Discover new music by getting personalized music picks from the Zune software.
3. Engage in the Social, including managing your friends so you can experience what they listen to and send them songs and playlists.
4. Link your player with your computer so you can sync media according to your preferences.
5. Share Microsoft Points across your Zune software account, your Xbox LIVE, Xbox.com, and Games for Windows - LIVE accounts.

To create your account, you'll need an Internet connection and an email address.

1. Launch the Zune software and click Create New Account in the upper-right corner.
2. Follow the instructions for setting up your account.

If you already have an account in the Zune software and want to create a new one, follow these instructions:

1. Right-click on your Zune Tag in the upper-right corner.
2. Select Switch user.
3. Click Create New Account.
4. Follow the instructions for setting up your account.

Now you're all set to get the most out of your Zune experience. Just be sure to sign in to the Zune software every time you launch it by clicking the Sign in link in the upper-right corner.
